Landscape and Wildlife Photography
Sierra Nevada wildlife and flowers

A selection from a collection of several hundred pictures, of animal and plant life. Much of the 1996 trip was devoted to wildflower photography (with a 2-year-old in tow, we were a little limited in terms of visiting remote backcountry locations !). The other shots here were taken on our 1992 walk from Kings Canyon to Yosemite over two weeks in June.

Yellow-bellied Marmot (Marmota flaviventris), Marion Lake (MW, 1992)

Shooting Star (Dodecatheon jeffreyi), Tuolumne Meadows (1996)

Snow Plant (Sarcodes sanguinea) grows without chlorophyll in the deep shade of Yosemite's forests, getting its nutrients via Mycorrhizal fungi in the deep needle litter (1996)

Skyrocket or Desert Trumpet, (Ipomopsis aggregata) Mono basin (1992)

Gnarled lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta var. murrayana) on Half Dome (1992)

Sierra Juniper at Olmsted Point, home to Clark's Nutcracker (Nucifraga columbiana), (1996)

Mule Deer (Odocoileus hemionus), Tuolumne river (MW, 1992)

All the above (and many others) are available as unmounted (worldwide), or mounted and framed (within UK) Cibachrome prints in a variety of sizes. Please contact us for details of these and other photographic products, on mailto:Photos@pennine.demon.co.uk.
